IIFYM VS Intuitive eating VS Meal plan

Let me know your favorite method and why

I’ve experimented with all three of these nutrition methods so I thought it would be fun to share my personal pros and cons to all of them🌿

✅Macro Pros: Freedom & Creativity.

➰Choosing what you want to eat is the best part imo. You also learn A LOT about what’s actually in foods you eat, and experimenting with different recipes is something I love about counting macros. I love coming up with fun recipes that are macro focused ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

❌Macro Cons: Focused on numbers & can be slightly inaccurate.

➰A lot of nutrition facts on labels can be very inaccurate and constantly counting and taking measurements can be overwhelming. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✅Meal Plan Pros: Easy & Accurate.

➰It’s easy. You already know what you’re going to eat for the most part. Macros are already pre-calculated to your goals so it’s accurate as long as your different options are accurate.

❌Meal Plan Cons: Boring.

➰If you’re someone who loves to cook like me, being on a meal plan can get kind of boring. Although I do love all the foods I eat while on a meal plan, I really don’t get sick of them because I make my meals to my liking, but I do miss coming up with fun different recipes, that’s just the mini chef in me. Also, if you’re looking to learn more about nutrition and your body, being handed a plan doesn’t help you at all.

✅Intuitive Eating Pros: Balance🙏

➰Now in order to eat intuitively, I believe you should have tracked macros before in order to have an accurate understanding of what’s in your food. But it’s much less stressful once you get it down. When you’re able to accurately implement that 80/20 rule life feels flowy and balanced.

❌Intuitive Eating Cons: Obviously less accurate.

Now if you’re eating intuitively odds are you don’t have an extreme physique goal in mind. There are times when you can get too comfortable and let a few too many things slide by. All self control.
